Ready Set Indie Games Live Streams: Moonglow Bay (XB1)

The Following game Moonglow Bay was provided to me for free by the developers and publishers. Therefore I would like to thank the developer/publisher for providing a free copy of the game to play on my stream.

In this Live Stream, Ready Set Indie Games plays Moonglow Bay on XBOX ONE.

Moonglow Bay is a very relaxing game for those who are fans of farming and fishing games. Although there were some things in the game that I did have some issues with but we will get into that in a moment.

In Moonglow Bay, you play as the partner of a fisher. You and your partner -- because you can choose between male, female, non-binary -- decide to move to Moonglow Bay to open a stall to cook the fish that you catch, but the waters are said to be a curse amongst other things from the town's locals. Of course, your partner tells you not to worry and everything will be fine. The game starts with you learning how to fish from your partner, which the fishing mechanic was a little strange to me and I had some issues with it, but finally got the hang of it. After your partner teaches you how to fish something tragedy happens and the scene goes black.

Three years later your child shows up and tells you they are going to help in Moonglow Bay and in this, you decided to retry your hand after three years at the business you and your partner started and so you are taken through another tutorial in regards to how to play the game further, such as catching fish, how to make the meals, and how to sale your goods for shells which is the currency of the game.

One of my biggest issues with Moonglow Bay was its performance on XBOX One. I am not sure how it performs on PC, but it ran kind of choppy and I am not sure if that was intended or if it's because it's just not optimized for XB1. It only seems to move choppy in cut scenes, but in the regular town when you move around it performed well.

It's a voxel art game, which I absolutely love voxel art games, but was just a little confused on why it performed the way it did. Other than that I found the game to be really fun and I did enjoy it alot.
