In this gameplay video from Ready Set Indie Games, TripG87 plays Martian Law on PC.

Martian Law is a casual shooter that takes you back to games similar to old school missile command. In this game, you must protect the baby aliens from getting killed by all sorts of missiles. You can pick up power-up but they don't come often and the game, although it looks simple, is not exactly easy. One of the things that could have helped would have been having a small tutorial to explain controls instead of having the control scheme be a separate option on the menu for a few moments and you will see in the video I had no idea I could shoot until I went out and select the control scheme option.

In this gameplay video from Ready Set Indie Games, TripG87 plays Spirit Roots on PC.

In Spirit Roots, you play as a lost lad who is separated from his family after the world split and puts him on the opposite side than his family. It is up to our young hero to do what he has to do in order to get back to his family on the other side of the split. I really enjoyed the game although there is a mechanic that he will automatically grab onto things which can be a bit of a problem when trying to get out of harm's way. However, you can easily adjust to this mechanic as well.

In this gameplay video from Ready Set Indie Games, TripG87 plays Emberlight (PC).

Emberlight is a Turn-Based Strategy game that shows great promise. However, a lot of the mechanics in the game are a bit off. For example, the tutorial is not really helpful as the tutorial just sits at the top for you to click on each individual topic to go through it. I was a bit confused about how to navigate through the game and I didn't like the fact that you could actually heal enemies or even attack your foes if you weren't paying attention. I also thought it was strange that you could not do Story Mode in this game either.

If the game tweaks those few things I would love to play it again, as again it was not a bad game. I just didn't like those few mechanics.
