In this Live Stream from Ready Set Indie Games, TripG87 plays Slay the Spire with music from Pretzel Rocks on PC.

Slay the Spire is a card game in which you select one of three heroes to transcend the spire. The game is a roguelike card game and you use the cards to battle against monsters. As you transcend the spire you collect more cards to add to your deck.

I was only supposed to play this for an hour but somehow I manage to play for almost 2 hours. This is a really awesome game and something that you can totally get lost in.

In this Live Stream from Ready Set Indie Games, TripG87 plays Slay the Spire with Mods on PC with music from pretzel rocks.

This clip is not that long because the mods kept making the gameplay spotty so I was only able to get about 20 minutes of the game with mods before switching back to the original.

Live Stream: Jan 17, 2020

In this Live Stream from Ready Set Indie Games, TripG87 plays Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon on PC.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is a predecessor to the NES Version of Castlevania and is the prelude to the game Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. In Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon you get to control four different characters, Zangetsu, a cursed swordsman with a vendetta against demons, Miriam a shardbinder who wants to use her powers for good, Alfred and older alchemist, and Gebel another shardbinder who is corrupted and uses his powers the way he sees fit. Each character has their own strengths and weaknesses as well, and you will have to use certain characters to achieve certain things.

The game offers two ways to play a Veteran Mode for a more Retro like gameplay and then a Casual play for those who just want to relax and play. The game is really well made and a lot of fun even if it proves difficult at times.

Live Stream: Jan 17, 2020

In this Live Stream from Ready Set Indie Games, TripG87 plays A Long Way Down on PC.

A Long Way Down is a rogue-lite dungeon creator card game all rolled into one. You play as Sam, a mixed-race man who has been tossed into limbo. Sam must go against the dungeon master and complete tasks to escape the dungeon which is done by equipping armor as well as using cards to attack your enemies. Another cool feature is that along the way you do get to find others to help you in your dungeon crawl.

The gameplay for the game is completely phenomenal and the art style is also really well. I love the concept of being able to create the board as you go along, and even the dungeon master using slabs to throw you off or mess up your run.

However, there are some racial things in the game that was a bit unsettling and I can see that becoming an issue with some people without the proper context or at least a warning saying that the game does contain some racial suggestive themes when it comes to the dialogue.

Unless the game timing is supposed to be based in that time era. I didn't see the need for that particular type of dialogue. You can also skip through the story but for those who want to read the story, I feel that a warning could better prepare them for the content. Again, the game and gameplay are good. I feel that the story without the context or warning will be the undoing of the game itself.

Also, I would love to see a free play mode added for those who don't want to engage in the story.

If you would like to play this A Long Way Down for yourself, you can do so on the following platform(s):
